Juvenile Connections Working with court-involved youth from Montgomery County Juvenile Court is a major driving force of The Victory Project. We host monthly momentum building events where life coaches and youth team up for recreational, educational or arts inspired activities. Afterwards, interested mentors are encouraged and guided through the formation of small groups. This life-coach team will continue to build on the relationships established at the events; meeting with the youth from their group, sharing in their lives, encouraging them, meeting practical needs and helping them negotiate life. We believe by approaching this with small groups it establishes many levels of solidarity not found in other one-on-one programs: accountability, shared responsibility and mission endurance to name a few. Juvenile Connections has two main focuses: Probations and Prisons. While we have monthly events with many of the youth on probation that can come to us, we also meet with youth inside local institutions. This has had an immediate impact, one of these young men recently said, "I didn’t think there were people that would take time out of their day to come visit and show me they care". Here again is where The Victory Project separates itself from the others, we embrace diversity and care less about where people have been and more about where they are going!!
